Footprints Food Pantry
The State of Maine Lions Clubs had a challenge for the month of February to see which Lions Club would get the most soup to donate to their local food pantry. The Rotary Club of Kittery at Pam Gray's suggestion decided to help them along with their quest to collect the most cans of soup. The Kittery After Hours Rotary Club beat our club by donating 2 more cans than we did! We lost but the Kittery Footprints Food Pantry WON! See the thank you below from Footprints Food Pantry.

The Rotary Club of Kittery raises money to assist those in need as well as those events that are FUN around the community. The Rotary Club of Kittery had been donating dictionaries to every 3rd grader in the Kittery School system for a number of years. This year (2017) instead of the dictionaries,we donated $100 to each of the 3rd grader teachers to buy books for each of their 3rd grader classroom libraries. This assisted the teachers as they have been buying extra books out of their own pockets. In November, a number of our club members we went to Mitchell School and met with all the 3rd graders their teachers and the principal to present each of the teachers with a check. Read below the principals thank you, a copy of the front page of the school's newspaper plus some of the many thank yous from the students. Unfortunately, there are about 100 3rd graders this year, we could not publish all of the students thank yous.

Kittery Holiday Baskets has been a long time service project for the Rotary Club of Kittery. Barbara Moulton sent the following letter dated January 20, 2017 thanking everyone for their assistance with the program and asked us to continue helping with the program. Beth Gilbert is taking over from Barbara Moulton after Barbara's dedication to this program for 40 years. See her letter below.

On January 19, 2017, we paid for the transportation for 5 Traip Academy Spanish students and 2 chaperones to be transported from Traip Academy to Logan Airport and back again during February school vacation for them to do a field trip to Mexico. We received the thank you below from the students.
